     He was awarded the Distinguished Service Order (D.S.O.)² He was appointed Companion, Order of the Bath (C.B.)² He was commissioned in 1903, in the service of the South Wales Borderers.² He fought in the First World War.² He was commanding officer of the 2nd Battalion, South Wales Borderers in April 1918.⁴ He held the office of Lord-Lieutenant of Brecknockshire between 1948 and 1959.⁴

     Toi Pinlat married Timothy Francis Cripps, son of Sir John Stafford Cripps and Ursula Davy, in 1969 at Thailand.²
     From 1969, her married name became Cripps.¹
