Lt.-Col. David John Younger was born on 23 October 1939.1 He was the son of Maj.-Gen. Ralph Younger and Greta Mary Turnbull.2 He married Jennifer Ann Dewey, daughter of Thomas Lewis Dewey and Josephine May Sadler Stockton, on 6 December 1966.1 He died on 3 August 2017 at age 77.3
He was educated at Eton College, Windsor, Berkshire, England.1 He gained the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel in the Queen's Own Hussars.1 He was admitted to Royal Company of Archers.1 He lived in 2003 at Ravenswood, Melrose, Roxburghshire, Scotland.1

Sir William McEwan Younger, 1st Bt. was born on 6 September 1905.2 He was the son of William Younger of Ravenswood and Katharine Theodora Dundas.3 He married Nora Elizabeth Balfour, daughter of Brigadier Edward William Sturgis Balfour, 9th of Balbirnie and Lady Ruth Balfour, in 1936.4 He and Nora Elizabeth Balfour were divorced in 1967.5 He died on 15 April 1992 at age 86.2
He was educated at Winchester College, Winchester, Hampshire, England.2 He was educated at Balliol College, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, England.2 He was chairman and managing director of Scottish & Newcastle.2 He was awarded the Distinguished Service Order (D.S.O.) in 1942.5 He fought in the Second World War, where he was mentioned in dispatches.5 He held the office of Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.) of Midlothian in 1955.5 He was managing director of Scottish and Newcastle Breweries Ltd between 1960 and 1967.5 He was chairman of Scottish and Newcastle Breweries Ltd between 1960 and 1970.5 He was created 1st Baronet Younger, of Fountainbridge, in the City of Edinburgh [U.K.] on 17 February 1964.1 He held the office of Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.) of the City of Edinburgh in 1984.2 On his death, his baronetcy became extinct.5
