     Rear-Admiral Thomas William Best was born on 1 September 1915.1 He was the son of Hon. James William Best and Florence Mary Bernarda Lees.2 He married Brenda Joan Hellaby, daughter of Frederick Alan Hellaby, on 28 April 1942.1 He died on 10 July 1984 at age 68.1
     He fought in the Second World War, where he was mentioned in dispatches.1 He held the office of Aide-de-Camp to HM Queen Elizabeth II in 1964.1 He was Flag Officer of the Gibraltar between 1964 and 1966.1 He was appointed Companion, Order of the Bath (C.B.) in 1966.1 He retired from the military in 1967, with the rank of Rear-Admiral.1

     Commander Rupert Thomas Nicholas Best was born on 15 May 1943.1 He was the son of Rear-Admiral Thomas William Best and Brenda Joan Hellaby.2 He married Margaret Murray, daughter of Major Alan L. Murray, in 1971.1 He died on 3 February 2021 at age 77.3
     He was educated at Winchester College, Winchester, Hampshire, England.1 In 1962 Pingat Perjuangan Brunei.1 He was commissioned in 1962, in the service of the Royal Navy.1 He was educated at Royal Naval College, Darmouth, Devon, England.1 He was educated at London Business School, London, EnglandG.1 He held the office of Younger Brother, Trinity House.1 He fought in the Falklands War in 1982.1 He retired from the military in 1989, with the rank of Commander.1 He lived in 2003 at 39 Beach Road, Emsworth, Hampshire, England.1
