Rt. Rev. Thomas Earle Welby was born on 11 July 1810.1 He was the son of Sir William Earle Welby, 2nd Bt. and Wilhelmina Spry.2 He married Mary Browne, daughter of A. Browne, in 1837.1 He died on 6 January 1899 at age 88 at Jamestown, St. Helena, in a carriage accident.1
He gained the rank of Officer in the 13th Light Dragoons.1 He graduated with a Doctor of Divinity (D.D.)3 He held the office of Bishop of St. Helena.3

Evelyn Borradaile Bell was the daughter of Adam Bell.2 She married Hugh Earle Welby, son of Henry Welby and Cecilia Bland, on 17 October 1908.1 She died in 1972.1
