Sir Benjamin Louis Cohen, 1st Bt. was born on 18 November 1844.1 He was the son of Louis Cohen and Rebecca Floretta Keyser.2 He married Louisa Emily Merton, daughter of Benjamin Moses Merton, on 27 April 1870.1 He died on 8 November 1909 at age 64.1
He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for London.1 He held the office of Member of the London City Council between 1888 and 1901.1 He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for Kent.1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for East Islington between 1892 and 1906.1 He held the office of Lieutenant of the City of London.1 He was created 1st Baronet Cohen, of Highfield, Shoreham, Kent [U.K.] on 19 December 1905.1

Sir Herbert Benjamin Cohen, 2nd Bt. was born on 26 April 1874.1 He was the son of Sir Benjamin Louis Cohen, 1st Bt. and Louisa Emily Merton.2 He married Hannah Mildred Behrens, daughter of Henry Behrens, on 26 March 1907.1 He died on 23 April 1968 at age 93.1
