     Sir Guy Frederick Thorold was born on 21 July 1898.¹ He was the son of Commander Hubert Gould William Thorold and Lora Marsh Karslake.² He married Mary Wilder Wynnatt-Hussey, daughter of Henry Wynnatt-Hussey, on 18 June 1928.¹ He died on 16 January 1970 at age 71.¹
     He was educated at Winchester College, Winchester, Hampshire, England.¹ He fought in the First World War.¹ He was Lieutenant Royal Field Artillery WW I , Assist Sec Minister Ec Warfare 1944–45, attd UK Delegn OEEC Paris Sept 1948, UK Fin Advsr and Ec Minister Washington 1957–59, Dir Ag Mortgage Corporation 1963–67, president Corporation Insur Brokers 1963–68 in 1917.¹ He graduated from New College, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, England, in 1921 with a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.)¹ He was appointed Companion, Order of St. Michael and St. George (C.M.G.) in 1945.¹ He was appointed Knight Commander, Order of St. Michael and St. George (K.C.M.G.) in 1959.¹

     Mary Wilder Wynnatt-Hussey was the daughter of Henry Wynnatt-Hussey.² She married Sir Guy Frederick Thorold, son of Commander Hubert Gould William Thorold and Lora Marsh Karslake, on 18 June 1928.¹ She died on 6 June 1963.¹
     Her married name became Thorold.
