     John Malpas Talbot was born in 1791.¹ He was the son of Richard Wogan Talbot, 2nd Baron Talbot of Malahide and Catherine Malpas.² He died on 2 November 1827, unmarried.¹
     He was educated at Eton College, Windsor, Berkshire, England.¹ In 1810 he founded the Guards Club.¹ He fought in the Barrosa Heights in 1811, where he was wounded.¹ He gained the rank of Captain in the Coldstream Guards.¹
