Lawrence in the Arab Revolt.¹ He was awarded the Military Cross (M.C.)¹ He was Governor of Jaffa District, Palestine Administration between 1920 and 1923.¹ He gained the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel in the Royal Dublin Fusiliers.¹ He was Advisor to the Government of Albania between 1923 and 1931.¹ He was Governor of the Sinai Peninsula in 1930.¹ He fought in the Second World War.¹ He was Political Officer, North Frontier, Syria between 1941 and 1943.¹ He was Times correspondent in Syria between 1947 and 1951.¹ He wrote the book Safety Lost.²

     Lt.-Col. (?) Mackenzie-Edwards gained the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel in the Royal Berkshire Regiment.¹

     Eileen Mary May Mackenzie-Edwards is the daughter of Lt.-Col. (?) Mackenzie-Edwards.² She married Lt.-Col. Walter Francis Stirling, son of Captain Francis Stirling and May Caroline Francis, in 1920.¹
     From 1920, her married name became Stirling.

     Elspeth Lettyr Stirling was born in 1922.¹ She is the daughter of Lt.-Col. Walter Francis Stirling and Eileen Mary May Mackenzie-Edwards.² She married Major John Anthony Norman Crankshaw, son of Lt.-Col. Sir Eric Norman Spencer Crankshaw, on 10 October 1946.¹
     From 10 October 1946, her married name became Crankshaw.

     Lt.-Col. Sir Eric Norman Spencer Crankshaw was appointed Member, Order of the British Empire (M.B.E.)¹ He was appointed Knight Commander, Order of St. Michael and St. George (K.C.M.G.)¹ He lived at The Old Vicarage, Kintbury, Berkshire, England.¹

     Major John Anthony Norman Crankshaw is the son of Lt.-Col. Sir Eric Norman Spencer Crankshaw.² He married Elspeth Lettyr Stirling, daughter of Lt.-Col. Walter Francis Stirling and Eileen Mary May Mackenzie-Edwards, on 10 October 1946.¹
     He gained the rank of Major in the 11th Hussars.¹ He was awarded the Military Cross (M.C.)¹

     Mary Emma Stirling is the daughter of Captain Francis Stirling and May Caroline Francis.²

     Eliza Rebecca Cowell was born in 1809 at India.¹ She was the daughter of William Cowell.¹ She married Sir Henry Miers Elliot, son of Lt.-Col. John Elliot and Eliza Lettsom, on 27 December 1828 at Bareilly, Bengal, India.¹ She died on 30 March 1876 at 7 Stanhope Street, Paddington, London, England.¹
     From 27 December 1828, her married name became Elliot.¹

     Anna Magdalena van Hangest, Barones d'Yvoy was born on 16 September 1818 at Amsterdam, The Netherlands.¹ She was the daughter of Paul Engelbert van Hangest, Baron d'Yvoy and Catherina Johanna Broen.¹ She married Hendrik Maurits van Weede, son of Jonkheer Willem van Weede and Susanne Jacqueline Warin, on 28 May 1846 at Amsterdam, The Netherlands.¹ She died on 13 November 1877 at age 59 at Nijkerk, The Netherlands.¹
