Sir William Gordon Smith of Crowmallie, 2nd Bt. was born on 30 January 1916.1 He was the son of Sir Robert Workman Smith of Crowmallie, 1st Bt. and Jessie Hill Workman.2 He married, firstly, Diana Gundreda Malden, daughter of Major Charles Horace Malden and Lilian Robertson Bagshaw, on 29 October 1941.1 He and Diana Gundreda Malden were divorced.1 He married, secondly, Diana May Violet Peel Goodchild in 1958.1 He died on 20 May 1983 at age 67.1
