Major Lionel Bootle-Wilbraham was born on 19 January 1853.1 He was the son of Colonel Hon. Edward Bootle-Wilbraham and Emily Ramsbottom.2 He married Lavinia Wilson, daughter of Abraham Wilson, on 9 April 1895.1 He died on 4 January 1914 at age 60.1

Brigadier Lionel Bootle-Wilbraham, 6th Baron Skelmersdale was born on 23 September 1896.2 He is the son of Major Lionel Bootle-Wilbraham and Lavinia Wilson.2 He married Ann Quilter, daughter of Percy Cuthbert Quilter and Gladys Clare Alice Tudway, on 1 October 1936.2 He died on 21 July 1973 at age 76.2
He was educated at Wellington College, Crowthorne, Berkshire, England.1 He was educated at Cheltenham College, Cheltenham, Gloucestershire, England.2 He fought in the First World War.2 He was awarded the Military Cross (M.C.) in 1917.2 He was Aide-de-Camp to the Governor of Madras between 1924 and 1927.2 He was Military Secretary to the Governor of Madras between 1929 and 1932.2 He fought in the Second World War, where he was mentioned in dispatches.2 He was awarded the Distinguished Service Order (D.S.O.) in 1940.2 He gained the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel in the Coldstream Guards.2 He was Director Associate of British Oil Engines (Export) Ltd.2 He succeeded as the 6th Baron Skelmersdale, of Skelmersdale, co.
