     Denys Geoffrey Crossley Salt was born on 4 May 1918.¹ He was the son of Harold Crossley Salt and Grace Ethel Muriel Pratt.² He married, firstly, Patricia Lee Pope, daughter of Lt.-Col. D.C. Pope, on 5 May 1956.¹ He married, secondly, Eva Kiesling on 1 July 1989.¹ He died on 21 December 2014 at age 96 at Graz, Austria.³
