Brigadier Stephen Alexander Holgate Batten was the son of John Holgate Batten.2 He married Alice Joan Royden, daughter of Sir Ernest Bland Royden, 3rd Bt. and Rachel Mary Smith, on 28 September 1935.1 He died on 10 January 1957.2
