George Rodney, 2nd Baron Rodney of Rodney Stoke was born on 25 December 1753.1 He is the son of Admiral George Brydges Rodney, 1st Baron Rodney of Rodney Stoke and Jane Compton.2 He married Anne Harley, daughter of Hon. Thomas Harley, on 10 April 1781.1 He died on 2 January 1802 at age 48.1
He gained the rank of Captain in the 3rd Foot Guards.1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) (Tory) for Northampton between 1780 and 1784.1 He gained the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel in 1783.1 He succeeded as the 2nd Baron Rodney of Rodney Stoke, co. Somerset [G.B., 1782] on 24 May 1792.1 He succeeded as the 2nd Baronet Rodney [G.B., 1764] on 24 May 1792.1
