[Cape of Good Hope]¹ He fought in the Basuto War.¹ He held the office of Mayor of Kimberley in 1880.¹ He organised and commanded the first mounted volunteer force in Griqualand West.¹ He was chairman of Robinson's South African Banking Company and gold mines in Transvaal.¹ He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) [South Africa], for Kimberley.¹ He was created 1st Baronet Robinson, of Hawthornden, Wynberg, in the Province of the Cape of Good Hope in the Union of South Africa, and Dudley House, City of Westminster [U.K.] on 27 July 1908.¹

     James Ferguson lived at Kimberley, Cape Province, South Africa.¹

     Elizabeth Rebecca Ferguson was the daughter of James Ferguson.² She married Sir Joseph Benjamin Robinson, 1st Bt., son of Robert John Robinson and Martha Emily Strutt, on 3 October 1877.¹ She died on 30 March 1930.¹

     Frederick Eustace Robinson was born on 25 September 1878.¹ He was the son of Sir Joseph Benjamin Robinson, 1st Bt. and Elizabeth Rebecca Ferguson.² He died on 7 May 1917 at age 38, unmarried.¹

     Sir Joseph Benjamin Robinson, 2nd Bt. was born on 11 March 1887.¹ He was the son of Sir Joseph Benjamin Robinson, 1st Bt. and Elizabeth Rebecca Ferguson.² He married Alice Josephine Cullen, daughter of Daniel Cullen, on 5 September 1935.¹ He died on 16 November 1954 at age 67, without issue.¹
     He was educated at Eton College, Windsor, Berkshire, England.² He was educated at Trinity College, Cambridge University, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, England.¹ He held the office of Representative to Union Parliamen [South Africa] between 1915 and 1919, for Randfontein.¹ He succeeded as the 2nd Baronet Robinson, of Hawthornden, Wynberg, in the Province of the Cape of Good Hope in the Union of South Africa, and Dudley House, City of Westminster [U.K., 1908] on 30 October 1929.¹ He held the office of Representative to Union Parliamen [South Africa] between 1932 and 1938, for Wynberg.¹
