Æneas Alexander Mackay, 13th Lord Reay was born on 25 December 1905.1 He is the son of Eric Mackay, 12th Lord Reay and Baroness Maria Johanna Bertha Christina van Dedem.2 He married Charlotte Mary Younger, daughter of William Younger of Ravenswood and Katharine Theodora Dundas, on 14 April 1936.1 He died on 10 March 1963 at age 57.1
He held the position of Chief of the Clan Mackay from on 1 November 1921. He succeeded as the Baron Mackay van Ophemert and Zennewijnen [The Netherlands] on 1 November 1921. He succeeded as the 13th Lord Reay, of Reay, co. Caithness [S., 1628] on 1 November 1921.1 He succeeded as the 13th Baronet Mackay [N.S., 1627] on 1 November 1921.1 He was educated at Utrecht University, Utrecht, The NetherlandsG.1 He was naturalized as a British subject in 1938.1 He was with the Foreign Office between 1939 and 1948.1 He was appointed Representative Peer [Scotland] between 1955 and 1959.1 He lived at St. Johns, 11 High Cross Avenue, Melrose, Roxburghshire, Scotland.1
