Sir Ian Niall Rankin, 4th Bt. was born on 19 December 1932.1 He was the son of Arthur Niall Talbot Rankin and Lady Jean Margaret Florence Dalrymple.2 He married, firstly, Alexandra Durlacher, daughter of Admiral Sir Laurence George Durlacher, on 2 July 1959.1 He and Alexandra Durlacher were divorced in 1967.1 He married, secondly, June Marsham-Townshend, daughter of Captain Thomas Marsham-Townshend and Averil Innes Loyd, in 1980.1 He and June Marsham-Townshend were divorced in 1998.1 He married, secondly, Prudence Sporborg on 4 June 2013.3 He died on 10 November 2020 at age 87.4
