Sir William Monypenny is the son of Thomas Monypenny, 8th of Pitmilly and Christian Keith.2 He married Marjorie Arbuthnott, daughter of Phillip Arbuthnott, in 1410.1

Marjorie Arbuthnott is the daughter of Phillip Arbuthnott.2 She married Sir William Monypenny, son of Thomas Monypenny, 8th of Pitmilly and Christian Keith, in 1410.1

William Monypenny, 1st Lord Monypenny was born in 1411.1 He was the son of Sir William Monypenny and Marjorie Arbuthnott.2 He married Katherine Stewart.1 He died circa 1485.1
He emigrated to France arriving on 1437 in the train of Princess Margaret of Scotland.1 He was in service of Dauphin (later HM King Louis XI.)1 He was chamberlain to HM King Charles VII and later HM King Louis XI.1 He was frequently employed on diplomatic missions by both the Scottish and French Kings, particularly in negotiating royal marriages.1 He was appointed Knight Bachelor by the Comte de Dunois at Siege of Rouen on 16 October 1449.1 Received considerable grants of land in Scotland and France, where he was known as Sieur de Concressault.1 He was created 1st Lord Monypenny [Scotland] in 1460.1 In 1473 he was granted lands in Berry and appointed Seneschal of Xantogne (Saintonge.)1

Alexander Monypenny, 2nd Lord Monypenny was the son of William Monypenny, 1st Lord Monypenny and Katherine Stewart.2 He married Marguerite Flockhart, daughter of Captain Patrick Flockhart.1 He died circa 1528.1
He sold the family's Scottish estates and moved to France.1 He gained the title of Vicomte d'Omoy [France].1 He succeeded as the 2nd Lord Monypenny [S., 1460] circa 1485.1 On his death his titles became extinct.
