     He fought in the First World War, where he was mentioned in despatches.¹ He was awarded the Distinguished Service Order (D.S.O.) in 1916.¹ He gained the rank of Major in the King's Royal Rifle Corps.¹

     William Newcome Musgrave was born on 16 November 1878.¹ He was the son of Edward Musgrave and Anastasia Letitia Gee.² He married Madge Violet Francis, daughter of Allan Emerson Francis, in 1914.¹ He died on 4 August 1932 at age 53.¹
     He gained the rank of Captain in the Royal Army Service Corps.¹

     Allan Emerson Francis lived at Newton, Montgomeryshire, Wales.¹
