William Macpherson was the son of Andrew Macpherson and Marjorie Campbell.2 He married Anna (?) in 1735.1 He died on 17 January 1746, killed in action.1

Colonel Allan Macpherson, 1st of Blairgowrie was born on 7 June 1740.1 He was the son of William Macpherson and Anna (?)2 He married Eliza Dell Fraser of Fairfield.1
He purchased Blairgowrie.1 He fought in the Seven Years War between 1757 and 1763, in Canada and the West Indies.1 He was in the Honourable East India Company Service between 1764 and 1787.1 He gained the rank of Colonel in the 42nd Royal Highlanders (Black Watch.)1 He held the office of Quartermaster General of Bengal between 1781 and 1787.1

William Macpherson, 2nd of Blairgowrie was born on 26 August 1784.1 He was the son of Colonel Allan Macpherson, 1st of Blairgowrie and Eliza Dell Fraser of Fairfield.2 He married Janet Chalmers, daughter of William Chalmers, on 20 April 1815.1 He died on 11 March 1866 at age 81.1
He was educated at St. Andrews University, St. Andrews, Fife, Scotland.1 He held the office of Clerk of Executive and Legislative Council [New South Wales] between 2 January 1837 and 31 December 1859.1

Janet Chalmers was the daughter of William Chalmers.2 She married William Macpherson, 2nd of Blairgowrie, son of Colonel Allan Macpherson, 1st of Blairgowrie and Eliza Dell Fraser of Fairfield, on 20 April 1815.1 She died on 10 June 1847.1
