Mary Grant was the daughter of Duncan Grant of Mullochard, Strathspey.2 She married Sir James McGrigor, 1st Bt., son of Colquhoun McGrigor and Ann Grant, on 23 June 1810.1 She died on 1 April 1872.1

Kathleen Margaret Smith was born on 8 August 1894 at Lahore, Pakistan.2 She was the daughter of Sydney Smith.1 She married, firstly, Major Beresford Arthur Jardine Havelock, son of George Broadfoot Havelock and Annie Helen Beresford, on 6 March 1916.1 She married, secondly, Colonel Daniel Frederick Bartlett on 15 October 1921.1 She died on 11 December 1962 at age 68 at Kensington, London, England.2

Walter James McGrigor was born on 18 March 1817.1 He was the son of Sir James McGrigor, 1st Bt. and Mary Grant.2 He married, firstly, Marie Anne Digby, daughter of Vice-Admiral unknown Digby, on 29 August 1849.1 He married, secondly, Elizabeth Anna Hamilton, daughter of Reverend John Hamilton, on 20 September 1870.1 He died on 7 June 1891 at age 74.1
He graduated from Trinity College, Cambridge University, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, England, with a Master of Arts (M.A.)1 He gained the rank of Major in the 2nd Battalion, Queen's Own Cameron Highlanders.1
