John Macdonald, 13th of Clanranald and Moidart was the son of Sir Donald Macdonald, 12th of Clanranald and Moidart and Mary Macdonald.2 A contract for the marriage of John Macdonald, 13th of Clanranald and Moidart and Moire Macleod was signed on 15 February 1613.1 He died in 1670.1
He fought for King Charles I under Montrose.1 On 18 September 1627 he was retoured 2nd heir in special to his father, in lands of Eigg and Barony of Castle Tirrim, and heir general to his grandfather, Allan, and to his great-grandfather, Ian Moidartach.1

Effingham Wilson Serpell was born in 1846.1 He was the son of Robert Coad Serpell and Catherine Wilson.1 He married, firstly, Clara Corin on 30 September 1875 at Dawlish, Devon, England.1 He married, secondly, Lois M. Crookall in 1912 at St. Pancras, London, England.1 He died in 1919.1
