Peter John Locke King was born on 25 January 1811.1 He was the son of Peter King, 7th Lord King, Baron of Ockham and Lady Hester Fortescue.1 He married Louisa Elizabeth Hoare, daughter of William Henry Hoare and Louisa Elizabeth Noel, on 22 March 1836.1 He died on 12 November 1885 at age 74.1
     He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for East Surrey between 1847 and 1874.1 He held the office of Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.)1 He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.)1
