     He was educated at Rugby School, Rugby, Warwickshire, England^G.¹ He fought in the First World War.¹ He was awarded the Military Cross (M.C.) and bar.¹ He was Lieutenant-Colonel of the 88th (2nd W Lancs) Field Brigdade, Royal Artillery between 1936 and 1938.¹ He fought in the Second World War, where he was mentioned in despatches.¹ He gained the rank of GSO(1) in 1939 in the 51st Highland Division.¹ He gained the rank of CRA in 1940 in the 51st Highland Division.¹ He was appointed Commander, Order of the British Empire (C.B.E.) in 1945.¹

     Violet Alice Pulleine was the daughter of Captain Henry Percy Pulleine.² She married Henry Charles Hamilton Eden, son of Charles Hamilton Eden and Caroline Sophia Ford, on 11 November 1916.¹ She died on 2 March 1956.¹
     Her married name became Eden.

     Penelope Glynne Wilmot-Sitwell was born on 11 August 1903.² She was the daughter of Hervey Wheler Sitwell.¹ She married, firstly, Lt.-Col. Raymond John Garmondsway Temple in 1923.¹ She married, secondly, Henry Charles Hamilton Eden, son of Charles Hamilton Eden and Caroline Sophia Ford, on 8 April 1957.¹ She died on 16 February 2009 at age 105.²
