Vice-Admiral Sir George Willes Watson was born on 5 April 1827.1 He was the son of Reverend Fisher Watson and Louisa Sarah Lacon.2 He was baptised on 7 April 1827 at Melton Magna, Norfolk, England.2 He married Sarah Jane Margaretta Campbell in 1864 at Plymouth, Devon, England.1 He died on 26 April 1897 at age 70.1
He was Admiral-Superintendant of the Chatham in 1881.1 He was Commander-in-Chief of the North America and West Indies Station in 1888.1
