     Rt. Rev. Robert Maxwell was the son of Very Rev. Robert Maxwell and Susan Armstrong.¹ He married Margaret Echlin, daughter of Rt. Rev. Robert Echlin and Jane Seaton.¹ He died in 1672.¹
     He graduated from Trinity College, Dublin University, Dublin, County Dublin, Ireland^G, with a Doctor of Divinity (D.D.)¹ He was the Rector at Tynan, County Armagh, Ireland^G.¹ He held the office of Archdeacon of Down before 1641.¹ He held the office of Bishop of Kilmore in 1643.¹ He held the office of Bishop of Ardagh in 1661.¹ He had four other daughters.¹
