Michael Ranulf Hickman was born on 2 October 1922.1 He was the son of John Owen Hickman and Nancy Barlow.2 He married Diana Richardson, daughter of Colonel Derek Charles Houghton Richardson, on 16 January 1943.1 He died circa 2000.1
He was educated at Wellington College, Crowthorne, Berkshire, EnglandG.1 He graduated from Trinity Hall, Cambridge University, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, EnglandG, with a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.)1 He was admitted to Middle Temple entitled to practise as a barrister.1 He gained the rank of Flight Lieutenant in 1949 in the Royal Air Force.1 He was Circuit Court Judge between 1974 and 1993.1
