     Lawrence Ruck was born in 1820 at Newington, Kent, England.2 He married Mary Anne Matthews in 1841 at Machynlleth, Montgomeryshire, Wales.2 He died after 1891.2

     Lucy Elizabeth Hemmant is the daughter of William Hemmant and Lucy Ground.1 She married James Richard Atkin, Baron Atkin, son of Robert Travers Atkin and Mary Elizabeth Ruck, on 16 May 1893 at Sevenoaks, Kent, EnglandG.1
     From 16 May 1893, her married name became Atkin.1 After her marriage, Lucy Elizabeth Hemmant was styled as Baroness Atkin on 6 February 1928.
