     Lt.-Col. George Philip Alexander Delmé-Murray was born on 13 July 1921.1 He was the son of Major George Arthur Delmé Murray and Dorothea Emily Anne Webb.1 He married Alison Elizabeth Beddows, daughter of Colonel William John Beddows and Esmé Lesa McBean, on 29 December 1951.1 He died on 28 September 2015 at age 94.2
     He gained the rank of Temporary Major in the Indian Army.1 He gained the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel in the King's Shropshire Light Infantry.1 He fought in the Second World War, in Burma, where he was wounded.1 He was awarded the Distinguished Service Order (D.S.O.) in 1945.1 He was appointed Member, Order of the British Empire (M.B.E.)1 He lived in 1999 at Yew Tree Cottage, Knowbury, Ludlow, Shropshire, EnglandG.1
