Sir Philip Edward Pilditch, 1st Bt. was born on 12 August 1861 at Plymouth, Devon, England.2,3 He was the son of Philip John Pilditch and Ellen Rosa Cox.2,3 He married Emily Mary Lewis, daughter of John Lewis, on 11 July 1888.2 He died on 17 December 1948 at age 87.2
He was educated at Cheverley Hall School, Mannamead, Plymouth, Devon, England.2 He was educated at King's College School, Wimbledon, London, EnglandG.2 He gained the rank of Captain in the 1st Sussex Volunteer Artillery.2 He was founder of Pilditch, Chadwick and Company, architects.2 He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for County London.2 He held the office of member of the London County Council (L.C.C.) between 1907 and 1919.2 He held the office of Vice-Chairman of the London County Council (L.C.C.) between 1913 and 1914.2 He was founder and honorary treasurer of the Battalion Funds for London, Middlesex and Surrey Battalions of the New Army during the First World War.2 He was appointed Knight Bachelor in 1918.2 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) (Unionist) for Spelthorne between 1918 and 1931.2 He wrote the book Retrenchment.2 He wrote the book The Eighties and To-day.2 He wrote the book Elizabethan Plymouth.2 He wrote the book Hadrian's Wall.2 He was created 1st Baronet Pilditch, of Bartropps, Weybridge, co. Surrey [U.K.] on 28 June 1929.2

Mabel Emily Pilditch was the daughter of Sir Philip Edward Pilditch, 1st Bt. and Emily Mary Lewis.2 She married Major Henry Alexander Hammick, son of Sir Murray Hammick and Ada Constance Searle, on 8 January 1919.2 She died in 1990.2
Mabel Emily Pilditch also went by the nick-name of May.2 From 8 January 1919, her married name became Hammick.2

Henry Edgar Murray Hammick was born on 9 November 1919.1 He was the son of Major Henry Alexander Hammick and Mabel Emily Pilditch.2 He married Eleanor Macleod Lawder, daughter of Commander Patrick Bruce Lawder, on 20 April 1949.1 He died on 7 March 2005 at age 85 at Royal Cornwall Hospital, Truro, Cornwall, England.3
He was educated at Charterhouse School, Godalming, Surrey, EnglandG.1 He fought in the Second World War.1 He gained the rank of Lieutenant in the Royal Navy Volunteer Reserve.1 He lived in 2003 at 9 Newenham Road, Lymington, Hampshire, EnglandG.1
