Claud Alexander was born on 4 June 1897.1 He was the son of Sir Claud Alexander of Ballochmyle, 2nd Bt. and Rachel Belasyse Holden.2 He married, firstly, Maude Clazey, daughter of Lt.-Col. John Oswald Clazey, on 1 February 1928.1 He married, secondly, Peggy le Mare, daughter of Ewart Raby le Mare, on 8 November 1949.1 He died on 7 May 1976 at age 78 at Bromley, Kent, England.1,3
     He was educated at Eton College, Windsor, Berkshire, EnglandG.1 He fought in the Second World War, where he was mentioned in despatches four times.1 He gained the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel in the Royal Electricial and Mechanical Engineers.1
