     Rose Eleanor Chichester was the daughter of Maj.-Gen. Hugh Chichester and Georgina Alice Norton.2 She married Sidney Gladwyn Jebb, son of Joshua Gladwyn Jebb and Hon. Alice Caroline Dundas, on 18 April 1899.1 She and Sidney Gladwyn Jebb were divorced in 1933.1 She died on 18 September 1962.1
     From 18 April 1899, her married name became Jebb.

     Hubert Miles Gladwyn Jebb, 1st Baron Gladwyn was born on 25 April 1900.1 He was the son of Sidney Gladwyn Jebb and Rose Eleanor Chichester.2 He married Cynthia Noble, daughter of Sir Saxton William Armstrong Noble of Ardmore, 3rd Bt. and Celia Brunel James, on 22 January 1929.1 He died on 24 October 1996 at age 96.1
     Hubert Miles Gladwyn Jebb, 1st Baron Gladwyn usually went by his middle name of Gladwyn.1 He was educated at Eton College, Windsor, Berkshire, EnglandG.1 He gained the rank of Ensign in 1919 in the Coldstream Guards.1 He graduated from Magdalen College, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, EnglandG, in 1922 with a Master of Arts (M.A.)1 He was with the Diplomatic Service between 1924 and 1960.1 He was appointed Companion, Order of St. Michael and St. George (C.M.G.) in 1942.1 He was Acting Secretary-General for the United Nations in February 1946.1 He was appointed Companion, Order of the Bath (C.B.) in 1947.1 He was appointed Knight Commander, Order of St. Michael and St. George (K.C.M.G.) in 1949.1 He was U.K. Representative to the United Nations between 1950 and 1954.1 He was awarded the honorary degree of Doctor of Civil Law (D.C.L.) in 1954.1 He was appointed Knight Grand Cross, Order of St. Michael and St. George (G.C.M.G.) in 1954.1 He held the office of Ambassador to France between 1954 and 1960.1 He was appointed Knight Grand Cross, Royal Victorian Order (G.C.V.O.) in 1957.1 He was awarded the Grand-Croix, Ordre national de la Légion d'honneur.1 He was created 1st Baron Gladwyn, of Bramfield, co.      Cynthia Noble was born on 20 November 1898.2 She was the daughter of Sir Saxton William Armstrong Noble of Ardmore, 3rd Bt. and Celia Brunel James.3 She married Hubert Miles Gladwyn Jebb, 1st Baron Gladwyn, son of Sidney Gladwyn Jebb and Rose Eleanor Chichester, on 22 January 1929.1 She died on 21 September 1990 at age 91 at Kensington, London, England.1,2
     From 22 January 1929, her married name became Jebb. After her marriage, Cynthia Noble was styled as Baroness Gladwyn on 12 April 1960.
