     Elizabeth Port is the daughter of Sir John Port.² She married Sir Thomas Gerard, son of Sir Thomas Gerard and Jane Legh.¹

     Sir Thomas Gerard, 1st Bt. was born in 1560.¹ He was the son of Sir Thomas Gerard and Elizabeth Port.² He married, secondly, Mary Hawes, daughter of Sir James Hawes.¹ He married, thirdly, Mary Dormer, daughter of Sir William Dormer and Dorothy Catesby.¹ He married, firstly, Cecily Maney, daughter of Sir Walter Maney, in 1580.¹ He died circa February 1620/21.¹ He was buried on 16 February 1620/21.¹
     He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Liverpool in 1597.¹ He had returned to him the £1,000 fee he had paid for the baronetcy in consideration of the sufferings of his father Sir Thomas Gerard on behalf of Mary Queen of Scots.¹ He was created 1st Baronet Gerard, of Bryn, co. Palatine of Lancaster [England] on 22 May 1611.¹ He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Lancashire in 1614.¹ He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Wigan in 1621.¹

     Cecily Maney is the daughter of Sir Walter Maney.² She married Sir Thomas Gerard, 1st Bt., son of Sir Thomas Gerard and Elizabeth Port, in 1580.¹
     From 1580, her married name became Gerard.

     Sir Thomas Gerard, 2nd Bt. was the son of Sir Thomas Gerard, 1st Bt. and Cecily Maney.² He married Frances Molyneux, daughter of Sir Richard Molyneux, 1st Bt. and Frances Gerard.¹ He died on 15 May 1630.¹
     He succeeded as the 2nd Baronet Gerard, of Bryn, co. Palatine of Lancaster [E., 1611] circa February 1620/21.¹ He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Liverpool in 1624.¹

     John Gerard was the son of Sir Thomas Gerard, 1st Bt. and Cecily Maney.² He died, without issue.¹
