     He succeeded as the 3rd Baronet Gamble, of Windlehurst, St. Helens, co. Lancaster [U.K., 1897] on 24 September 1908.¹ He held the office of Mayor of St. Helens between 1913 and 1915.¹

     Hugh Gamble was born on 3 July 1877.¹ He was the son of Sir Josias Christopher Gamble, 2nd Bt. and Isabella Sanderson.² He died on 23 November 1946 at age 69, unmarried.¹

     John Arthur Gamble was born on 9 July 1883.¹ He was the son of Sir Josias Christopher Gamble, 2nd Bt. and Isabella Sanderson.² He married Lilian Jane Emily Cole, daughter of Reverend Arthur Raggett Cole, on 21 July 1910.¹ He died on 12 March 1947 at age 63.¹
     He was Member of the House of Laity Church Assembly.¹ He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for Lancashire.¹ He gained the rank of Private in the Royal Army Service Corps.¹

     Reverend Arthur Raggett Cole lived at Hurstbourne Priors, Hampshire, England^G.¹

     Lilian Jane Emily Cole was the daughter of Reverend Arthur Raggett Cole.² She married John Arthur Gamble, son of Sir Josias Christopher Gamble, 2nd Bt. and Isabella Sanderson, on 21 July 1910.¹ She died on 24 December 1913.¹
