Philip Marmaduke Monckton was born on 7 May 1892.1 He was the son of Marmaduke John Monckton and Kathleen Swan Browne.2 He married Lavender O'Hara, daughter of W. J. O'Hara, on 19 January 1918.1 He died on 4 October 1965 at age 73.1

George Rupert Monckton, 12th Viscount Galway was born on 13 October 1922.2 He was the son of Philip Marmaduke Monckton and Lavender O'Hara.2 He married Fiona Margaret Taylor, daughter of Captain Percival Walter de Putron Taylor, on 12 October 1944.2 He died on 30 September 2017 at age 94.3
He gained the rank of officer in 1941 in the Royal Canadian Navy.3 He retired from the military in 1967, with the rank of Lieutenant-Commander.3 He succeeded as the 12th Viscount Galway, co. Galway [I., 1727] in 1980.2 He succeeded as the 12th Baron of Killard, co. Clare [I., 1727] in 1980.2 He succeeded as the 6th Baron Monckton of Serlby, co. Nottingham [U.K., 1887] in 1980.2 He lived in 2003 at 787 Berkshire Drive, London, Ontario, CanadaG.2
