     Henry Clay was born on 4 October 1825 at Burton-on-Trent, Staffordshire, England^G.¹ He was the son of Henry Clay and Elizabeth Leigh.¹ He married Mary Louisa Boden, daughter of Henry Boden, on 25 August 1863.¹ He died on 3 March 1921 at age 95 at Piercefield Park, Chepstow, Monmouthshire, Wales^G.¹
     He was educated at Rugby School, Rugby, Warwickshire, England^G.¹ He graduated from Trinity College, Cambridge University, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, England^G, in 1848 with a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.)¹ He graduated from Trinity College, Cambridge University, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, England^G, in 1851 with a Master of Arts (M.A.)¹ He held the office of Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.) of Monmouthshire.¹ He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for Monmouthshire.¹

     Charles John Clay was born on 21 August 1828 at Burton-on-Trent, Staffordshire, England^G.¹ He was the son of Henry Clay and Elizabeth Leigh.¹ He married, firstly, Agnes Lucy Arden, daughter of Reverend Thomas Arden and Isabella Mary Cooper, on 6 July 1869 at Tatenhill, Burton-on-Trent, Staffordshire, England^G.¹ He married, secondly, Elizabeth Teasdale Smith, daughter of Mark Smith, on 6 September 1883.¹ He died on 14 April 1910 at age 81 at Holly Bush, Newborough, Burton-on-Trent, Staffordshire, England^G.¹
     He was educated at Repton School, Repton, Derbyshire, England^G.¹ He graduated from University College, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, England^G, in 1851 with a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.)¹ He was admitted to Inner Temple on 30 April 1855 entitled to practise as a Barrister-at-Law.¹

     Caroline Elizabeth Clay was born in 1831.¹ She was the daughter of Henry Clay and Elizabeth Leigh.¹ She married Reverend Walter Baskerville Mynors, son of Peter Rickards Mynors and Mary Elizabeth Halliday, on 3 April 1856.² She died on 3 October 1922.¹
     From 3 April 1856, her married name became Mynors.¹

     Charles Frederick Pretor-Pinney was born in 1874 at London, England.¹ He was the son of Frederick Wake Pretor-Pinney and Lucy Smith.¹

     Emily Jane Clay was born in 1833.¹ She was the daughter of Henry Clay and Elizabeth Leigh.¹ She married Richard Bott in 1865.¹ She died in 1885.¹
     From 1865, her married name became Bott.¹

     Richard Bott was born in 1834.¹ He married Emily Jane Clay, daughter of Henry Clay and Elizabeth Leigh, in 1865.¹ He died in 1897.¹

     Agnes Bonham is the daughter of General Pinson Bonham.¹ She married Reverend Joseph Clay, son of Joseph Clay and Sarah Spender, on 19 March 1835 at Great Warley, Essex, England^G.¹
     From 19 March 1835, her married name became Clay.¹
