     Robert Gordon was the son of Robert Gordon, 3rd of Esslemont and 14th of Hallhead and Lady Henrietta Gordon.² He died in 1814.¹
     He held the office of Lieutenant-Governor of Berbice, British Guiana.¹

     Harriet Elizabeth Gordon is the daughter of Robert Gordon.² She married Adam Durnford Gordon, son of William Gordon and Frances Elrington, on 12 September 1829.¹

     Adam Lindsay Gordon was born on 19 October 1833.^1,2 He was the son of Adam Durnford Gordon and Harriet Elizabeth Gordon.³ He married Margaret Park on 20 October 1862.^1,2 He died on 24 June 1870 at age 36, by suicide.¹
     He was educated at Royal Military Academy, Woolwich, Kent, England^G.¹ He was the Poet.¹ He was a Trooper with the South Australian Mounted Police.¹ He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Ballarat [Victoria] in 1865.¹ He wrote the book Bush Ballads and Galloping Rhymes, published 1870.²

     Margaret Park was born on 22 March 1845 at Glasgow, Lanarkshire, Scotland.^2,3 She married Peter Low.² She married, firstly, Adam Lindsay Gordon, son of Adam Durnford Gordon and Harriet Elizabeth Gordon, on 20 October 1862.^1,2 She died on 29 November 1919 at age 74.^2,3 She was buried at Bordertown Cemetery, Adelaide, South Australia, Australia.³
     Her married name became Low.² From 20 October 1862, her married name became Gordon.

     Francesca Clara Ignez Gordon was born in 1837.¹ She was the daughter of Adam Durnford Gordon and Harriet Elizabeth Gordon.² She married Cavaliere Francesco Carlo Ignace Ratti di Bagnaro.¹

     Cavaliere Francesco Carlo Ignace Ratti di Bagnaro married Francesca Clara Ignez Gordon, daughter of Adam Durnford Gordon and Harriet Elizabeth Gordon.¹
     He had a son and a daughter.² He lived at Nice, France^G.¹

     Robert Cumming Hamilton Gordon was born on 21 December 1799.¹ He was the son of William Gordon and Frances Elrington.² He married Frances Freer, daughter of George Freer, on 22 January 1828.¹
     He gained the rank of Ensign and Lieutenant in 1815 in the 3rd Guards.¹ He gained the rank of Lieutenant in 1820 in the 48th Regiment.¹ He gained the rank of Lieutenant in 1823 in the 95th Regiment.¹ He gained the rank of Captain in 1828.¹ He gained the rank of Captain in May 1838 in the 85th Regiment.¹

     George Freer was a surgeon.¹ He lived at The Friary, Handsworth, Staffordshire, England^G.¹

     Frances Freer is the daughter of George Freer.² She married Robert Cumming Hamilton Gordon, son of William Gordon and Frances Elrington, on 22 January 1828.¹
     From 22 January 1828, her married name became Gordon.

     Maj.-Gen. George Hamilton Gordon was born on 5 November 1828.¹ He was the son of Robert Cumming Hamilton Gordon and Frances Freer.² He married Blanche Emma Beatrice Case, daughter of John Ashton Case, on 22 November 1860.¹ He died on 15 July 1896 at age 67.¹
     He was educated at Royal Military College, Woolwich, Kent, England^G.¹ He gained the rank of 2nd Lieutenant in 1847 in the Royal Engineers.¹ He gained the rank of Major-General in 1886.¹
