Captain Charles Albert Cairns was the son of Reverend John Edgar Cairns.2 He married Violet Erskine, daughter of David Wingfield Erskine and Emily Margarette Blandy, on 1 July 1926.1 He died on 4 April 1931, as the result of polo accident.1
He gained the rank of Captain in the Royal Deccan Horse.1 He had one daughter.1

Alice Augusta Erskine was the daughter of David Holland Erskine and Augusta Jane Stoddart.2 She married Wilfred Leigh-Pemberton, son of Sir Edward Leigh-Pemberton and Matilda Catherine Emma Noel, on 1 January 1891.1 She died on 20 February 1949.1
