David Deas Dewar was born on 1 December 1868.1 He was the son of Hugh Bruce Deas Dewar and Janet Moyes Deas.2 He married Agnes Dickson Hill, daughter of John Hill, on 20 October 1898.1 He died on 31 December 1942 at age 74.1
