     John Richard Palliser was born on 28 March 1835.1 He was the son of Reverend John Bury Palliser and Julia Phillida Howe.2 He died on 29 August 1860 at age 25 at Tientsin, ChinaG.1
     He gained the rank of Lieutenant in the 1st Royal Regiment.1 He fought in the China War in 1860, including taking of Taku Forts.1

     Maria Victoria Josephine Gubbins was the daughter of Joseph Gubbins.2 She married Wray Bury Palliser, son of Reverend John Bury Palliser and Julia Phillida Howe, in March 1861.1 She died on 10 January 1896.1
     From March 1861, her married name became Palliser.

     He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.)1 He lived at Blervie, Morayshire, ScotlandG.1 He held the office of Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.)1 He fought in the First World War.1
