     Thomas Addis Emmet was born on 24 April 1764.¹ He was the son of Robert Emett and Elizabeth Mason.² He married Jane Patten on 11 June 1791.¹ He died in 1827.¹
     He was educated in 1783 at Trinity College, Dublin University, Dublin, County Dublin, Ireland^G, Bachelor of Arts (B.A.)¹ He graduated from Trinity College, Dublin University, Dublin, County Dublin, Ireland^G, with a Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.)¹ He graduated from Edinburgh University, Edinburgh, Midlothian, Scotland^G, with a Doctor of Medicine (M.D.)¹ He was admitted to Barrister-at-Law in 1790 at Dublin, County Dublin, Ireland^G.¹ In 1797 he was arrested.¹ He was Director of the Society of United Irishmen in 1797.¹ In 1799 he was exiled to Scotland.¹ In 1802 he was exiled to Holland.¹ He held the office of Attorney-General [New York State].¹ He lived in 1804 at New York, U.S.A.^G.¹

     Robert Emmet was born on 4 March 1778.¹ He was the son of Robert Emett and Elizabeth Mason.² He died on 10 September 1803 at age 25, hanged, unmarried.¹
     Robert Emmet also went by the nick-name of 'The Patriot'.¹ He was a leader of the United Irishmen.¹ He was educated in 1798 at Trinity College, Dublin University, Dublin, County Dublin, Ireland^G, but he withdrew his name from the books as a protest against the visitation of Lord Clare and Dr. Duigenan to investigate the political tendencies of students.¹ In 1802 he visited Paris, and interviewed Napoleon and Talleyrand.¹ In 1803 he engineered an rising in Ireland, planning to hold the Lord-Lieutenant as hostage.¹ In 1803 the insurrection failed, and he was captured and convicted.¹ His love for Susan Curran is described in John Brophy's novel, Sarah.¹

     From 11 June 1791, her married name became Emmet.

     Robert T. Emmet was born on 9 September 1792.¹ He was the son of Thomas Addis Emmet and Jane Patten.² He married Rosina Hubley on 18 January 1817.¹

     From 18 January 1817, her married name became Emmet.

     Richard S. Emmet was born on 12 February 1821.¹ He was the son of Robert T. Emmet and Rosina Hubley.² He married Catherine Temple on 29 September 1868.¹
