Thomas Addis Emmet was born on 24 April 1764.1 He was the son of Robert Emett and Elizabeth Mason.2 He married Jane Patten on 11 June 1791.1 He died in 1827.1

Robert Emmet was born on 4 March 1778.1 He was the son of Robert Emett and Elizabeth Mason.2 He died on 10 September 1803 at age 25, hanged, unmarried.1
Robert Emmet also went by the nick-name of 'The Patriot'.1 He was a leader of the United Irishmen.1 He was educated in 1798 at Trinity College, Dublin University, Dublin, County Dublin, IrelandG, but he withdrew his name from the books as a protest against the visitation of Lord Clare and Dr. Duigenan to investigate the political tendencies of students.1 In 1802 he visited Paris, and interviewed Napoleon and Talleyrand.1 In 1803 he engineered an rising in Ireland, planning to hold the Lord-Lieutenant as hostage.1 In 1803 the insurrection failed, and he was captured and convicted.1 His love for Susan Curran is described in John Brophy's novel, Sarah.1
