Lt.-Cdr. Thomas Stephen Lewis Dorman was born on 9 September 1883.1 He was the son of John William Dorman and Marion Isabell Lewis.2 He married Gwynneth Tennant, daughter of David Tennant, on 30 December 1916.1 He died on 5 May 1917 at age 33, killed in action in command of H.M.S. Lavender.1
He fought in the First World War.1 He gained the rank of Lieutenant-Commander in the Royal Navy.1 He was awarded the Distinguished Service Order (D.S.O.)1
