     He graduated from Christ Church, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, England^G, with a MAster of Arts (M.A.)¹ He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for North Northamptonshire between 1867 and 1880.¹ He held the office of County Alderman for Northamptonshire.¹ He gained the rank of Honorary Colonel in the 3rd Battalion, Northamptonshire Regiment.¹ He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for North Northamptonshire between 1900 and 1906.¹ He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for Northamptonshire.¹ He held the office of Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.) of Northamptonshire.¹ He lived at Drayton House, Lowick, Northamptonshire, England^G.¹

     Edith Frances Rashleigh was the daughter of William Rashleigh and Hon. Caroline Henrietta Stuart.¹ She married Sackville George Stopford Sackville, son of William Bruce Stopford Sackville and Caroline Harriet Sackville, on 4 February 1875.¹ She died on 15 December 1905.¹
     From 4 February 1875, her married name became Stopford Sackville.¹

     William Rashleigh married Hon. Caroline Henrietta Stuart, daughter of Maj.-Gen. Robert Walter Stuart, 11th Lord Blantyre and Fanny Mary Rodney.
     He lived at Menabilly, Cornwall, England^G.¹

     Hon. Caroline Henrietta Stuart was the daughter of Maj.-Gen. Robert Walter Stuart, 11th Lord Blantyre and Fanny Mary Rodney.² She married, firstly, William Rashleigh. She married, secondly, John Charles Ogilvy-Grant, 7th Earl of Seafield, son of Colonel Francis William Ogilvy-Grant, 6th Earl of Seafield and Mary Anne Dunn, on 12 August 1850.¹ She died on 16 October 1911.³
     Her married name became Rashleigh. From 12 August 1850, her married name became Ogilvy-Grant.¹ After her marriage, Hon. Caroline Henrietta Stuart was styled as Countess of Seafield on 30 July 1853. In 1884 she succeeded to the Grant and Seafield estates.⁴

     Colonel Lionel Richard Stopford Sackville was born on 4 January 1845.¹ He was the son of William Bruce Stopford Sackville and Caroline Harriet Sackville.¹ He married Constance Evelyn Gosling, daughter of Major George Gosling, on 6 January 1887.¹ He died on 30 July 1906 at age 61.¹
     He was Brevet Colonel of the 4th Battalion, Rifle Brigade.¹

     Constance Evelyn Gosling was the daughter of Major George Gosling.¹ She married Colonel Lionel Richard Stopford Sackville, son of William Bruce Stopford Sackville and Caroline Harriet Sackville, on 6 January 1887.¹ She died on 20 December 1945.¹
     From 6 January 1887, her married name became Stopford Sackville.¹
