     He succeeded as the 3rd Viscount Dillon of Costello-Gallin, co. Mayo [I., 1622] in July 1629.2

Thomas Dillon, 4th Viscount Dillon of Costello-Gallin1

     Thomas Dillon, 4th Viscount Dillon of Costello-Gallin was born in March 1615.1 He was the son of Sir Christopher Dillon and Lady Jane Dillon.2 He married Frances White, daughter of Nicholas White, in 1635.1 He died in 1673/74.1
     He succeeded as the 4th Viscount Dillon of Costello-Gallin, co. Mayo [I., 1622] on 13 May 1630.2 He held the office of Jointt Governor of Mayo in November 1641.1 He held the office of Joint Lord President of Connaught.2 He held the office of Governor of the Fort of Athlone on 27 April 1645.2 He was exiled and his estates sequestrated during the Commonwealth but he recovered them at the Restoration.2 He held the office of Custos Rotulorum of County Westmeath in 1662.2 He has an extensive biographical entry in the Dictionary of National Biography.3

     Frances White is the daughter of Nicholas White.2 She married Thomas Dillon, 4th Viscount Dillon of Costello-Gallin, son of Sir Christopher Dillon and Lady Jane Dillon, in 1635.1
     After her marriage, Frances White was styled as Viscountess Dillon of Costello-Gallin in 1635. From 1635, her married name became Dillon.
