     Lt.-Col. Sir Frederick William Shaw, 5th Bt. was born on 15 March 1858.2 He was the son of Lt. Col. Sir Robert Shaw, 4th Bt. and Catherine Grace Barton.3 He married Eleanor Hester de Vere, daughter of Major Francis Horatio de Vere and Anne Celestine Burke, on 8 July 1885.1 He died on 15 July 1927 at age 69.1
     He succeeded as the 5th Baronet Shaw, of Bushy Park, co. Dublin [U.K., 1821] on 16 May 1895.1 He held the office of Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.)4 He fought in the Boer War in 1900, where he was mentioned in despatches.4 He gained the rank of Lieutenant in the 1st Royal Dragoons.4 He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.)4 He was awarded the Distinguished Service Order (D.S.O.)1 He was Lieutenant-Colonel of the 5th Battalion, Royal Dublin Fusiliers between 1907 and 1913.4 He fought in the First World War.4 He gained the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel between 1914 and 1916 in the 8th Service Battalion, Royal Dublin Fusiliers.4 He gained the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel between 1916 and 1918 in the 2nd Garrison Battalion, Royal Irish Regiment.4 He lived at Bushy Park, County Dublin, IrelandG.1

     Margaret Elizabeth de Vere was born on 13 May 1865.1 She was the daughter of Major Francis Horatio de Vere and Anne Celestine Burke.2 She married, firstly, Frank J. Joyce on 4 September 1884.1 She married, secondly, Brig.-Gen. Cyril Prescott-Decie, son of Colonel Richard Prescott-Decie, on 20 October 1908.1 She died on 10 April 1949 at age 83, without issue.1
     From 4 September 1884, her married name became Joyce.1 From 20 October 1908, her married name became Prescott-Decie.

     Annabella James is the daughter of Reverend John James and Annette Hatton.1 She married Reverend Henry Peter Higginson, son of Henry Higginson and Anna Rountree, in 1862 at Dublin, County Dublin, IrelandG.1 She and Reverend Henry Peter Higginson were divorced on 6 March 1886 at Wayne County, Michigan, U.S.A.1
     From 1862, her married name became Higginson.1

     Alice Henrietta Dew was the daughter of Major Frederick Napleton Dew.1 She married Colonel Richard Prescott-Decie, son of Timothy Henry Decie and Catherine Hale Prescott, on 23 January 1908 at Kensington, London, England.1 She died on 22 January 1913 at Hereford, Herefordshire, England.1,2
     From 23 January 1908, her married name became Prescott-Decie.1

     Reverend Charlton Maxwell was born in 1812.2 He was the son of Reverend Peter Benson Maxwell and Hester Emily O'Hara.2 He married, firstly, Emily Augusta Grace Ponsonby, daughter of Rt. Rev. Hon. Richard Ponsonby and Frances Staples, before 1852 at County Londonderry, Ireland.2 He married, secondly, Anne Celestine Burke, daughter of James Hardiman Burke and Anne O'Hara, on 20 February 1873.2 He died on 14 July 1895.1

     William Horace de Vere Cole was born on 5 May 1881.1 He was the son of Major William Utting Cole and Mary O'Brien de Vere.2 He married, secondly, Mabel Winifred Mary Wright.1 He married, firstly, Denise Ann Marie Jose Lynch Daly, daughter of Lieutenant Denis Andrew Malachy Daly and Kathleen Mary Lynch, on 30 September 1918.1 He and Denise Ann Marie Jose Lynch Daly were divorced in 1928.1 He died in February 1936 at age 54.1
     William Horace de Vere Cole usually went by his middle name of Horace.1 He was educated at Eton College, Windsor, Berkshire, EnglandG.1 He was educated at Trinity College, Cambridge University, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, EnglandG.1 He was the perpetrator of many hoaxes including the digging up of Piccadilly and the celebrated 'Dreadnougtht Hoax' when he and a band of accomplices (who included Virginia Stephen (the future Virginia Woolf) and Duncan Grant) visited a Royal Navy battleship in guise of Emperor of Abyssinia and his suite.1 He was a distinguished Fabian and socialist.1
