     Charles Neville Clarke was born on 19 January 1866.¹ He was the son of Marshal Neville Clarke and Mary Elizabeth Pearson.² He married Bertha Cross, daughter of John Kynaston Cross, on 5 February 1896.¹ He died on 26 April 1942 at age 76 at Bath, Somerset, England^G, killed by enemy action.¹
     He was educated at Harrow School, Harrow, London, England^G.¹ He graduated from Pembroke College, Cambridge University, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, England^G, in 1887 with a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.)¹ He held the office of High Sheriff of County Tipperary in 1891.¹ He held the office of Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.) of County Tipperary.¹ He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for County Tipperary.¹ He lived at Graiguenoe Park, Thurles, County Tipperary, Ireland^G, which was detroyed by fire in 1923.¹ He lived at Little Ormsby Hall, Norfolk, England^G.¹
