Francis William Marten, son of Vice-Admiral Sir Francis Arthur Marten, on 16 March 1940.1 She died on 7 August 1964 at age 45.1
     Her married name became Marten.

     Lt.-Col. Francis William Marten is the son of Vice-Admiral Sir Francis Arthur Marten.2 He married Hon. Avice Irene Venables-Vernon, daughter of Francis Lawrance William Venables-Vernon, 9th Lord Vernon, Baron of Kinderton and Violet Miriam Nightingale Clay, on 16 March 1940.2
     He was with the Diplomatic Service.2 He gained the rank of Honorary Lieutenant-Colonel in the Rifle Brigade.2 He was appointed Companion, Order of St. Michael and St. George (C.M.G.)2 He was awarded the Military Cross (M.C.)2

Fanny Lawrance Venables-Vernon was born on 8 July 1886.1 She was the daughter of George William Henry Venables-Vernon, 7th Lord Vernon, Baron of Kinderton and Frances Margaret Lawrance.1 She married, firstly, Maurice Raoul Duval on 15 June 1910.1 She married, secondly, Lieutenant Jean de Kermaignant in 1918.1
     From 15 June 1910, her married name became Duval.
