     Brigadier Sir Christopher Henry Maxwell Peto, 3rd Bt. was born on 19 February 1897.² He was the son of Sir Basil Edward Peto, 1st Bt. and Mary Matilda Annie Baird.³ He married Barbara Close, daughter of Edwyn Thomas Close and Evelyn Isabel Goldsmid, on 3 October 1935.² He died on 19 May 1980 at age 83.²
