     He gained the rank of Major-General in the Indian Army.1

     Louisa Anne Garth is the daughter of Captain unknown Garth.1 She married, firstly, Captain Charles Egerton Harcourt Vernon, son of Granville Harcourt Vernon and Frances Julia Eyre, on 25 July 1865.2 She married, secondly, Major Bertie Shiffner, son of Sir George Shiffner, 3rd Bt. and Elizabeth Johnson, on 27 October 1877.1 She died on 27 June 1910.1
     From 25 July 1865, her married name became Harcourt Vernon. From 27 October 1877, her married name became Shiffner.

     Verus Arundell Maunder St. John-Mildmay was born on 6 January 1906.1 He was the son of Reverend Sir Aubrey Neville St. John-Mildmay, 10th Bt. and Louisa Jane Maunder.1 He married Marion Ross, daughter of Murdock Ross and Marion McKay, on 7 May 1943.1 He died on 29 November 1965 at age 59, without issue.1
     He lived at Vancouver, British Columbia, CanadaG. He succeeded as the 11th Baronet St. John [G.B., 1772]|de jure, without claiming the baronetcy on 30 March 1955.2

     He was awarded the Military Cross (M.C.)2 He was awarded the Companion of Honour (C.H.)2 He lived at Glyndebourne, Sussex, EnglandG.2 He has an extensive biographical entry in the Dictionary of National Biography.1
