     General Richard Vyse was born on 11 July 1746 at Lichfield, Staffordshire, England.² He was the son of Reverend William Vyse and Catherine Smalbroke.² He married Ann Howard, daughter of Field Marshal Sir George Howard and Lady Lucy Wentworth, in 1780.¹ He died in 1825.²
