Thomas Maynard Hazlerigg was born on 5 August 1840.2 He was the son of Sir Arthur Grey Hazlerigg, 12th Bt. and Henrietta Phillipps.2 He married Margaret Walker-Drummond, daughter of General Francis Walker-Drummond and Pauline Jemima Catherine Mackenzie, on 19 July 1869.1 He died on 5 November 1915 at age 75.1
